The story of the world is incomplete without honoring the women who have shaped its narrative into a beautiful saga. From the North to the South, East to West, and Central , these women have emerged as mothers of freedom and pioneers of gender liberation. They are warriors who have boldly claimed their space in a world historically dominated by men.

The world has birthed extraordinary women who have graced the globe with remarkable achievements and successes, the world success will be incomplete without mentioning our Africa Women. On this International Women's Day, CEOAFRICA applauds African women and women around the world for their resilience, strength, and contributions to society.

International Women's Day has roots that trace back to more than a century ago. The first observance was celebrated on March 19, 1911, in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland, a date later shifted to the now-commonly recognized March 8. This day was inspired by the relentless work of thousands of suffragists advocating for women's rights, including the right to vote.

The origins of International Women's Day are intertwined with labor movements that championed women's rights. The brilliant German activist Clara Zetkin proposed the idea, leading to the inaugural celebrations in both the United States and Europe. In 1975, the United Nations officially recognized March 8 as International Women's Day, solidifying its global significance and marking a pivotal moment in the fight for gender equality.

International Women's Day is celebrated annually to honor women's accomplishments across diverse fields. It serves not only as a celebration but also as a vital platform to advocate for gender equality and to highlight the challenges that women face worldwide. While we recognize the progress made, it is essential to emphasize the ongoing efforts needed to create an inclusive, equitable, and empowering society for all women.

The theme for this year's celebration—"Accelerate Action"—calls for urgent advancements in gender equality. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing strategies and tools that drive women's progress in education, employment, and leadership. This theme invites collective efforts from governments, organizations, and individuals to dismantle barriers and foster an environment of equal opportunities for women.

International Women's Day shines a spotlight on persistent gender disparities and champions women's rights across political, social, and economic spheres. It encourages essential discussions on crucial issues such as workplace equality, reproductive rights, and the representation of women in leadership roles. On this day, governments and organizations are encouraged to implement policies that support women's empowerment and eliminate systemic discrimination.
