A new video by the Boko Haram insurgents has emerged on You Tube, wherein the leader of the outlawed sect, Abubakar Shekau, was seen saying that Cameroon was going to suffer the same measure of attacks it has been visiting on Nigeria.

Shekau spoke in Arabic Language in the video released on January 5.

He directed his speech at the President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, stating that, “Oh Biya, if you don’t stop this, your evil plot, you will taste what has befallen Nigeria… Your troops cannot do anything to us.”

Apparently, Shekau’s threat followed repeated confrontations with Boko Haram by the Cameroonian troops in the northern part of the country.

After Boko Haram’s first attack in the northern part of Cameroon on December 28, Biya had on December 29 reportedly ordered air strike against the sect.

The Cameroonian president had also reportedly made a series of strong statements against Boko Haram.

Last year October, Biya had vowed to go after the group “until it’s totally wiped out.”

Also, in May last year, Biya had reportedly said that a Paris meeting of Nigeria’s neighbours was designed to “declare war on Boko Haram”.

It was the first time that Boko Haram will make an open comment on its activities in Cameroon.
