Police arrest suspected kidnappers of House member.

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police, has arrested a three-man kidnap gang, said to be responsible for the abduction of a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sani Bello on August 2, along Abuja-Kaduna Road.

One of the gang members, was said to have led the IRT to a farm, where they allegedly buried N250, 000.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Desk, read in part: “A notorious kidnap for ransom gang that has been linked to kidnapping  and violent crimes along  Kaduna-Abuja and its environs has been arrested after coordinated and painstaking investigation by the Intelligence Response Team(IRT) of the IGP’s monitoring unit.

“These dare devil gangsters were responsible for the kidnap of Hon Sani Bello, a current member the House of Representatives, on 2nd August 2016 in his farm along Kaduna –Abuja Road. Also, the kidnap of other persons were traced to them.

“The suspects were trailed and rounded up at Ungwan Kawu village in Dan Dumi L.G.A in Katsina State.”

The statement added that: “The Ag Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim k. Idris wishes to reassure Nigerians that the Police will not relent its commitment and determination to ensure that criminals and their collaborators have their day in court to face the wrath of the law. “

‎The Police gave the suspects’ names as: Haruna Adamu (25 years), alleged Gang Leader, Shaibu Adamu (18 years), and  Abubakar Saidu (30 years).
