Akure- Friday 2, April 2021: Suspected herdsmen attacked a rice female farmer, Amaka Okafor, for denying their cows to graze on her farm in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was disclosed by a source that the herdsmen met the woman on her farm and wanted to graze on the farm but the victim stopped them from destroying her rice plantation.
She was later inflicted with machete cuts on her head and hands by the herders.
It was confirmed that she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she is currently receiving a treatment.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident and revealed that investigation had commenced.
“The good news is that the victim could identify the assailants and we have begun investigation into it. The woman is recuperating at the hospital,” Ikoro stated.
