Sickle Cell Hope Alive Foundation (SCHAF) in collaboration with Adeyinka Ologbenla Falusi Female Empowerment Programme (AOFFEP) are set to award monetary prizes to best female science students of secondary schools in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti state, today,Tuesday 23rd March, 2021.
CEOAFRICA gathered the empowerment programme is an annual event that was initiated by Prof. Adeyinka Falusi to support best female science students of secondary schools in Efon Alaaye.
The empowerment programme has been in operation for about 10years.
In a chat with CEOAFRICA, Prof. Falusi, the Executive Director of SCHAF, disclosed that “the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best famale students would be given the prizes after an examination is conducted by seasoned educationists in the town.”
She added that SCHAF will be providing genotype screening to the students.
Recall that CEOAFRICA reported that SCHAF, in its efforts to fight against the second wave of COVID-19, organised an outreach to distribute branded face masks to Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Warriors and the nurses at the Hematology unit of Ring Road State Hospital (RRSH), Ibadan.
Besides, the foundation, which is a Non-Governmental Organization with the primary vision of reducing the burden of sickle cell Disease (SCD) in Nigeria, had been distributing face masks to sickle cell patients and health workers across the country.
