Chrisland University partners with Ogun on entrepreneurship training to boost economy

One of the leading private universities in Nigeria, Chrisland University has taken another lead as it sets to partner with Ogun State Government on entrepreneurship training, vocational skills and acquisition; awarding entrepreneurship certificate , diploma programme to empower the citizens with the aim of adding value to the country’s economy. 

The Vice Chancellor, Chrisland University, Prof. Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola remarked that entrepreneurship training, vocational skills and acquisition, and running of entrepreneurship certificate or diploma programme are three major keys for the partnership which aims to increase standards of living and generate more wealth for our nation.

She added that the training will not only make prospective students independent, but also make them employers of labours, whereby the rate of unemployment in the country will reduce drastically.

She advised that aside the academic certificates given to students on their convocation, additional certificate such as the entrepreneurship certificate should as well be awarded, disclosing that the later certificate will be a plus and added advantage to drive change with innovation and enable new markets to be industrialized.

 

In her remarks, the Commissioner of Industry, Commerce and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe applauded Chrisland University for standing up to contribute to the expansion of the national economy.

She therefore appealed to the University to draft a proposal which would project the plan and objectives of the partnership in order to step up to the game, acknowledging that well-organized utilization of human resources, labor and capital are needed for the growth of the country and the expansion of its economy.

The partnership meeting which took place at the Board Room of the Commissioner of Industry, Commerce and Investment had in attendance the Commissioner herself, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe; the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola; Director of Commerce, Mr. Matthew Opalere; Deputy Director for Industrial Promotion, Mrs. Oluyemisi Folarin; Mrs. Aarinola Ogunsanwo; Dr. Babatunde Agbi; Mr. Oba Oyewo and Mr. Raphael Decampos.
