Accident on Lagos-Ibadan road claims 6, injures 9

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, has on Tuesday confirmed the death of six persons and nine persons injured in an accident on Lagos-Ibadan express road.  

Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander, FRSC, Ogun state command, explained that the accident occurred around 11:53am and was caused by a truck driver marked FZE 376 DI who drove recklessly, lost control and hit a bus with the registration number ZUR 843 XA from the rear.

Umar disclosed that 20 people were involved in the accident- 16 male adults, 3 female adult and 1 male child. 1 female and 5 male adult were died, while a female, 7 male and a male child were injured.

It was also said that the driver of the truck tried to escape but was caught and taken to MTD Redeemed Police Division, Mowe.

For the injured persons, they were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu and Idera Hospital in Sagamu.
