Egyptian President Abdel Al-Sisi one-day visit to South Sudan

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi visited South Sudan on Saturday for bilateral talks with President Salva Kiir, according to South Sudan’s Presidential Office.

“President Kiir welcomed his Egyptian counterpart President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi upon arrival at Juba International Airport tomorrow [Saturday].”

According to the South Sudanese Presidency, “The two leaders expected held a bilateral talk which include State Lunch. They discussed bilateral issues and exchange views on regional stability as well as deepening South Sudan’s and Egypt diplomatic ties.

President Kiir office invited South Sudanese general public to come to Juba International Airport for“the reception ceremony of the historic visit of His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al- Sisi.”

Below are the 10 areas the two leaders agreed on :

1 – Enhancing the integrated strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields

2 – Enhancing and developing joint relations at various levels

3 – Raising the rates of trade exchange between the two countries and encourage Egyptian investments in South Sudan

4 – Enhancing the existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources and irrigation and maximizing the utilization of the Nile River resources

5 – The Nile River should be a source of cooperation and development as a lifeline for all the peoples of the Nile Basin nations.

6 – Egypt fully supports the efforts of President Salva Kiir and all the South Sudanese parties to achieve peace in the country.

7 – Egypt supports the efforts of the Government of National Unity to draft a new constitution that fulfills the aspirations of the people of South Sudan for peace, stability and development.

8 – Calling on the international community to fulfill its pledges and commitments to South Sudan as it marches towards a better future

9 – Egypt supports the endeavors to eliminate international sanctions on South Sudan in a way that contributes to the ongoing political transitional process.

10 – Intensifying cooperation by transferring Egyptian expertise, providing technical support and building the capacities of national cadres in South Sudan.
