The Ogun State government has directed Hon. (Prince) Segun Mojeed Adekoya, a member of Nigeria House of Representatives, representing Ijebu-North / Ijebu-East / Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, to stop the rehabilitation of Igan Road in Ago-Iwoye, saying it is illegal.
The state government said this in a letter by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr Adesina Babatunde on behalf of the governor of Ogun State, Dr Dapo Abiodun.
The letter which was addressed to the Constituency office of the lawmaker at Ago-Iwoye, accused Hon. Adekoya of illegally reconstructing the road without prior approval from the State government since it is a state-owned road.
It further ordered the lawmaker to immediately stop all work on the road, to submit proposals for any road construction to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, and to wait for the state government’s approval.
