Lady arrested for setting ex-lover’s house ablaze

The Lagos Police Command has on Monday, arrested a 19-year old Jemila Ibrahim and her 21-year old friend, Fatima Mohammed for allegedly setting ablaze the house of her ex-lover at Monkey Village area of the state on 18th of November, 2020.

This was made known to CEOAfrica in a statement by the Lagos Police Command, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The ex-lover, Mohammed Yusuf, had reportedly met his house ablaze but was able to rescue his new lover, Rabi who was trapped inside the burning building.

She however gave up the ghost at the hospital on the 21st of November, 2020.

The two erstwhile lovers were said to have parted ways after Mohammed accused Jemila of infidelity and after breaking up with her, he started to date Rabi.

Adejobi disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered that the accused and her accomplice be transferred to the State CID, Panti “for dscreet investigation”.

The statement read in part; “the Commissioner of Police also vowed to go after those who engage in crimes and social vices in order to get Lagos State rid of criminals and criminality.”

The CP thereafter encouraged residents of the state to avoid taking the law into their hands.
