Swimming Championship: Women Award Championship Int’l set to present, unveil trophies to Aisha Buhari

In a bid to honour the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari and Governors’ wives through the International Women Swimming Championship and Rural Empowerment, the Women Awards Championship International, Nigeria Aquatics Federation, in collaboration with the African First Ladies Peace Mission, are set to officially present and unveil the trophies to the First Lady ahead of the competition.

This was made known to CEOAFRICA in a statement by Amb.(Mrs.) LucyAdewuyi, the International Women Project Ambassador.

According to her,the first ever Swimming Championship and Rural Empowerment is a systematic plan and agenda aimed at boosting the support base needed to provide requisite economic and other vital skills to young girls and vulnerable women in rural communities.

 The first ever International Swimming Championship is tagged:”Peace and Unity Cup.”

Celebrating an Amazon and defender of the less privileged, the wife of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Buhari is known for her peace and grassroots development which include; child right protection, governance, women empowerment, peace and security, national and regional integration, building sustainable livelihood for less privileged girls, among others

The event seeks to honour the remarkable achievements of the wife of the president in championing the course of vulnerable women in the country through her socioeconomic development and empowerment programmes.

Amb.(Mrs.) Lucy said the trophy would be presented to Her Excellency in recognition of her selfless efforts and contribution to helping the girl child, women and the less privileged, with her pet projects spanning the breadth of the country.

The theme of the unveiling is tagged: “PEACEFUL, POWERFUL AND PROSPEROUS POTENTIAL OF WOMEN IN ALL SPHERES OF LIFE."

The official presentation is expected to take place at the First Lady’s office in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria on Thursday 26th November, 2020.
