It was indeed a remarkable day for the good people of  Saki in Oyo State today, friday  as landmark projects were commissioned for the masses and the military men alike by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, on Friday at Asabari Barracks, Saki

The  COAS, Lieutenant General Tukur  Yusufu  Buratai,  represented by the General Officer Command 2 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen AB Omozoje  commissioned  7 newly renovated Corporal -Below Blocks of Accommodation at the Corporals Below Quarters, 4 newly issued Toyota Hilux, 1 Toyota Medical Field Ambulance and  7 Motorcycles as well as a remodelled Quarter Guard, at the Asabari Barracks, Saki to cater for the needs of the troops.

 In the same vein, a borehole constructed by the Nigerian Army at the palace of the Okere of Saki, was commissioned by the Chief of Projects and Programmes Army Headquarters, Maj Gen MSA Aliyu represented by the Deputy Chief of Projects and Programmes, Army Headquarters, Maj Gen  AM Alabi.

The borehole is said to be an answered prayer for the members of the community who had been faced with the challenge of getting drinkable water for some times now.

His Royal Majesty, Okere of Saki Land, Oba Kaleed Oyeniyi Olabisi speaking at the occasion revealed that the borehole would help the people out of hardship.

He said “this borehole is a special intervention project provided by the Chief of Army Staff to help our people out of hardship of scarcity of portable water in Saki land.”

The Representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen AB Omozoje in his remarks expressed appreciation to His Royal Majesty Okere of Saki Land and the people of Saki for their cooperation with Army.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Majesty, Okere of Saki Land and members of his council of chiefs, military and paramilitary officers both active and retired members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association 244 Recce Battalion Chapter, Saki, to mention but few.
