Chairman of the Pentecostal Bishops Forum and Archbishop of the Dominion City Chapel International Church, Archbishop John Praise Daniel has decried what he refers to as the “ethnic cleansing” happening in the country that targets only one faith and has asked the government to put an end to the killings in Nigeria.
In his exclusive interview with CEO Africa, he blames the leadership of the country for how badly the security and economy of the country had turned out after 60 years of independence.
“I can afford to eat 3 square meals because of my position, but what about those depending on me, and those in the hospital, they can’t even get proper medical care.
“Other countries like Ghana are chasing us from their country, if our economy was good, our people will not run off to other countries. People are even scared to invest in Nigeria because they don’t know what tomorrow would be,” he said.
While admonishing the youths to be hard-working, he urged the state government to partner in creating jobs for the youths, otherwise, “Nigeria will be sitting on gun powder, because the rate of crime will increase as people will need to survive, so they will go to any length to put food on their tables”.
He however congratulated the country on her 60th anniversary and called on the government to stop practicing nepotism and apply justice and fair-play so that the future Nigeria would be a place where everyone is given an equal chance, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or age.
