America presidential candidates, Hollywood stars, others sympathize over Boseman’s death

American presidential candidate on the platform of Democratic Party, Joe Biden, has sympathized with the family of late Hollywood star, Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer aged 43.

Biden who expressed his condolences via a tweet stated,

“The true power of @ChadwickBoseman was bigger than anything we saw on screen. From the Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, he inspired generations and showed them they can be anything they want — even super heroes. Jill and I are praying for his loved ones at this difficult time.”

While mourning the loss of Boseman, Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris, also tweeted.

Similarly, many fellow actors and celebrities paid tribute to Boseman via social media following the announcement of his death, including a number of his co-stars from Black Panther and the Avengers series.

According to update via his Wiki citation, Angela Bassett shared the story of their first encounter, writing that while he was attending Howard University, he escorted her to receive her honorary degree from the school and added this: “This young man’s dedication was awe-inspiring, his smile contagious, his talent unreal…All you possessed, Chadwick, you freely gave. Rest now, sweet prince.”

Several other sympathizers via social media expressed their grief and condolences.

Sterling K. Brown wrote, “I don’t have words. Rest in Peace, Bruh. Thank you for all you did while you were here.”

Don Cheadle wrote, “I will miss you, birthday brother. You were always light and love to me.” Chris Pratt expressed his prayers for Boseman’s family and loved ones.”

Mark Ruffalo in a statement said, “It was the highest honor getting to work with you and getting to know you. What a generous and sincere human being. You believed in the sacred nature of the work and gave your all.” Zoe Saldana described him as a “king.”

Chris Hemsworth called his death “absolutely heartbreaking”, adding, that Boseman was “One of the kindest most genuine people [he’d] met”. Marvel Studios president and CCO Kevin Feige similarly called Boseman’s death “absolutely devastating”, writing, “Each time he stepped on set, he radiated charisma and joy, and each time he appeared on screen, he created something truly indelible…He was as smart and kind and powerful and strong as any person he portrayed. Now he takes his place alongside them as an icon for the ages.”

Co-stars from Boseman’s other films, and other actors who are set to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Simu Liu and Mahershala Ali, and a good number of other actors, such as Dwayne Johnson, Ice Cube, Jamie Foxx, Tiffany Haddish, Oprah Winfrey, Martin Lawrence, Lil Rel Howery, Denzel Washington, etc. also paid tribute to Boseman.
