The worst flood case has hits Sudan claiming many lives and leaving several others critically injured.

CEOAFRICA news correspondent gathered that very heavy rain early this month in the state of Khartoum and River Nile flashed flood and extensive damage in the state and seven other states.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is however appealing for $1million to provide emergency aid to thousands of flood victims in Sudan, having reported about 130,000 affected people and 14,000 houses to have been ruined or submerged.

The Red Cross Spokeswoman, Jessica Sallabank, who pointed out that about 80,000 people are currently displaced without shelter, further revealed that more rain is forecast and the Blue Nile and White Nile Rivers is still on the rise.

She however appealed that assistance is urgently needed to provide emergency shelter, relief items and emergency health care, adding that water, sanitation and hygiene is of paramount importance to prevent the outbreak of disease.
