Former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Alhaji  Abubakar returned to the country yesterday amid tight security after about three months in the United Kingdom for medical reasons.

According to report, heavily armed security men were spotted at the International Airport, Minna on Friday night in anticipation of the arrival of the former military general and elder statesman in the country, after which it was later slated for Saturday morning when the security operatives returned by 7:00 am to take strategic positions near the tarmac and at the arrival lounge of the airport in await while ordering people out of the airport.

The Nigeria Air Force Aircraft marked No. 5NFGV conveying former head of state and 12 others which included his wife, Hajiya Fati Lami Abubakar, his daughter, and wife of the state governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello as well as other close family members, arrived at exactly 9:33 am at the Minna International airport.

In contrast to the rumours of the deteriorating health condition of Abubakar, report has it that the former Nigerian leader was looking rejuvenating.

Recall that the former head of state left the country for the United Kingdom sometime in June this year for medical treatment leaving the concerned citizens of Niger state to make his health status as a subject of discussion.
