President Muhammadu Buhari has today appended his signature to the Companies and Allied Matters Bill, 2020 recently passed by the National Assembly at the presidential villa in Abuja.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, explained that the President’s action is to enhance several corporate legal innovations focused toward enhancing the ease of doing business in the country.

Adesina added that such innovations include but are not limited to filing fee reductions and other reforms for easier and cheaper means of running businesses in Nigeria for both small and medium-sized enterprises in the registration and reformation of their businesses; the corporate promoters of companies in establishing private companies with a single member or shareholder, and creating limited liability partnerships and limited partnerships to give investors and business people alternative forms of carrying out their business in an well-organized and flexible way.
