Egypt: World-largest textile plant to open in September 2021-Minister

Egypt will inaugurate its largest textile factory in the world in September next year according to Public Enterprise Sector Minister Hisham Tawfiq

The new spinning plant is part of a large state ambitious plan to develop the textile industry through revamping 23 spinning and weaving companies and 3 ginning companies at a cost of 21 billion pounds

The new plant, set to be the world’s largest spinning factory is located on an area of 62500 square metres accommodating more than 182 thousand spinners, with an average production capacity of 30 tonnes per day.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi inaugurated on Tuesday the first phase of a new industrial complex in 10th of Ramadan City in Sharqiya governorate.

The complex was built in nearly 30 months over 429 feddans and it will provide in its first stage 1,350 direct job opportunities and 12,000 indirect job opportunities.
