Gov Bello releases N10m for burial of Kogi arm robbery attack

The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has released the sum of N10m for the burial of the victims of the recent armed robbery attack in the Yagba East Local Government Area of the state. 

The state Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, made this known on Monday via Twitter.

“Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has released the sum of N10 million naira to support the burial rites of the slain victims of the unfortunate Isanlu robbery attack which claimed about 10 lives,” he wrote.

Armed robbers attacked and killed no fewer than seven security personnel on duty at the Isanlu branch of First Bank of Nigeria Limited and one passers-by.

Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, who condemned the attack, ordered a “full-scale manhunt” for the criminals, who also invaded the Divisional Police Headquarters in Isanlu, and killed some officers on duty.

“The IGP while condemning the incident has deployed a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response Team, the Special Tactical Squad, and Federal-SARS to Kogi State to ensure that the criminals are apprehended and brought to book.

“The IGP has also directed the AIG of Police in charge of the Zone-8 Police Headquarters, Lokoja, AIG Yunana Babas, to immediately assess and review the security arrangement in Kogi State and environ so as to prevent any future occurrence of such untoward incident in the State,” the Force said in a statement.
