Chrisland University management led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola has said that it would stop at nothing in ensuring that every effort within its capacity is utilized to assist in combating the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the globe.
The VC who is a Pharmacist and a Professor of Pharmacokinetics stated this at the Deputy Governor';s office during a donation of Hand sanitizers and alcohol based disinfectant sprays produced by Chrisland University to Ogun State Government.

While presenting the Hand sanitizers and alcohol based disinfectant sprays on Friday 17th of April 2020, Prof Babalola commended the state government for its efforts in setting up functional isolation centres across the state; for the continuous public advocacy and sensitisation and for the steps being taken to mitigate the effect of the containment efforts on the citizenry.

The winner of the African Union (AU) Kwame Nkrumah Award for Scientific Excellence at the just concluded 33rd African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Prof Chinedum also expressed the willingness of the University to offer technical assistance to the State Government as a world class based institution as well as her personal expertise as a Professor of Pharmacy.
Babalola asserted that the sanitizers and alcohol-based disinfectants are of World Health Organization (WHO) standard and the Univeristy has the capacity to produce for Ogun State if requested to do so.
The Deputy Governor of Ogun State and the Chairman Ogun State COVID-19 Task Force, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele while receiving the items on behalf of Ogun State lauded the initiative of Chrisland University to proffer solution to the COVID-19 pandemic, through their kind gesture. She promised that the government would ensure transparent use of all voluntary donations towards the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oyedele urged other tertiary institutions to emulate the kind gesture of Chrisland University and follow their example in combating the scourge.
The items donated include 12 cartons of Hand Sanitizers and 5 cartons of alcohol-based disinfectant.
