Makinde tasks corps members on nation building

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has tasked corps members to give their best during their service year which would invariably help in contributing towards nation building.

Makinde made this request on Thursday, at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2020 batch ‘A’ stream 1 corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.

The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, advised the corps members to avail themselves to every activities lined up for them during the 3-weeks orientation program.

He also welcomed the newly appointed Oyo State NYSC coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe and wished her a successful tenure in office.

Makinde further urged the corps members to use this opportunity to acquire skills that will enable them become employers of labour and wealth creators during and after their service year.

Gov Seyi Makinde also assured the corps members that his administration would create a conducive environment for them and equally ensure their safety in the state during their service year.

In her address Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, Oyo State NYSC coordinator, assured the corps members of their commitment to their wellbeing during the course of the 3-weeks orientation program.

She noted that several measures have been put in place by the NYSC management to prevent the spread of the coronavirus during the orientation program.

The chief judge who was represented by Honourable Justice Aderonke Aderemi also swore-in 2076 prospective corps members, comprising of 1020 males and 1056 females.

The management equally assured parents and guardians of the safety of the corps members noting that all corps members were screened before gaining entrance into the camp ground.
