President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a Tuesday message from his Congolese counterpart Denis Sasso-Nguesso touching on the recent developments of the Libyan crisis in light of Sasso-Nguesso's presidency of the Libyan High-level Committee of the African Union.

The two sides discussed means of establishing peace and stability in Libya, according to a statement released by presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady.

They agreed on the need to intensify coordination between them in this regard, with the aim of reaching a political solution that paves the way for the return of security and stability in Libya.

Rady's statement reported that the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Congolese ambassador.

The message included expressing Congolese appreciation for Egypt's and vital role plays in Africa, especially during its presidency of the African Union last year, in order to achieve comprehensive development and maintain peace and security in the continent.
