NIGERIA POLICE, OYO STATE COMMAND INTERCEPT EXPLOSIVE WEAPONS

The officials of the Oyo State Police Command have spotted a vehicle load of large explosives weapons.

According to the Mr. Mohammed Indabawa, the State Commissioner of Police, the Nissan vehicle marked Ogun XC 863 AKM and painted Ogun State commercial colour was intercepted while conveying the deadly weapons along Podo-Ijebu Ode road.

He revealed that the three occupants of the vehicle abandoned the vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush as the official pursued them.

He explained that the explosive items included six cartons of explosive powder, two cartons of solar detonating cords, sixteen bundles of ten wires each of delay detonator wires, adding that the explosive items after investigation were discovered to have been stolen from quarry at toll gate on August 8, 2013 stating that the police would still investigate the motive behind the movement of the explosives.
