The state police command recovered some explosive materials on the 11th of August 2013 at 3:15am during patrol along Podo-Ijebu-Ode intercepted a taxi with three occupants whom they flagged down but refused to stop and speed off.

After a hot chase the occupant of the vehicle painted in ogun state commercial colour escaped into a nearby bush while the vehicle was abandoned.

On the spot search of the vehicle revelled 6cartoons of explosives powder, 2cartoons of solar detonating cords and 16 bundles of 10 wires each of delay detonator wires.

A diligent investigation into the recovery revealed that the explosive were stolen from Quarry at toll gate on the 8^th August 2013.

Efforts is on to arrest the fleeing thieves.
