The Police in Enugu State said it has arrested one Samuel Eze for allegedly pretending to be a police officer.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu, police said the suspect was arrested on Friday, November 29, by its operatives on surveillance activities along Mgbemena in Coal Camp.
Amaraizu said that the suspect who was dressed in attire resembling that of a police officer had before his arrest allegedly claimed to be a police officer.
However, luck ran out of him as he was not “able to buttress his claim with convincing proof to the police officers who swooped on him.”
The police spokesman said, “The suspect is regretting his action of presenting himself as a police officer and also helping the operatives in their investigations.”
Items the police said was recovered from him include spray teargas, handcuff and a jack-knife.
