The Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) says it has impounded Tire Solution (illicit substance), worth N20 Million in Sabon Gari Area of Fagge Local Government Area of the State.

This was contained in a statement issued to Journalists on Thursday by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, who confirmed that the seizure came following an intelligence gathering by the KAROTA operatives that the substances were stored in a house on Emir Road, Sabon Gari.

Nabilusi said the Agency is part of the State’s Task Force against Drug abuse and Supply of Hard Drugs in Kano. Saddled to track, monitor and arrest drug related offences.

According to him, the Traffic Agency personnel raided the house on Wednesday after obtaining a Court Order to carry out an operation, where we discovered a premises 157 cartons of the illicit substance and subsequently confiscated it.

The statement added that the illegal products have been evacuated from the store of the building.

However, the Managing Director, Baffa Dan’agundi warned that the agency would not not relent in its efforts to do everything within its jurisdiction to call road users to order against violating traffics rules and regulations in the state.

Dan’ Agundi Lamented the increase cases in the of consumption of illegal substances in the state,adding that, only God knows the danger it would have posed in the state, if the substance had find its way into the public.

Baffa further explained that analysis have shown that most cases of reckless driving, over speeding and beating traffic are all associated with consumption of hard drugs by some drivers.

He, therefore, warned drivers to desist from engaging into drug addiction as it leads to loss of lives and properties.
