Former Governor, Peter Obi to deliver Chrisland University maiden convocation lecture

The former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi will deliver a lecture during the series of events scheduled for the maiden convocation of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The series of events which started on Wednesday 30th October with a lecture delivered by the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola, on the theme “Building a World Class University in Africa: The Role of Private Universities”, will on the 1st November, 2019 have former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi deliver a lecture  with the Theme of Speech “Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A critical Intersection for Economic Development in Africa” at the University Auditorium by 11:00am.

 “The Maiden Convocation firs Lecture will be delivered by the former Executive Secretary, Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Peter Okebukola with the theme “Building a World Class University in Africa: The Role of Private Universities” on the 30th October, 2019 by 10:00am at the University Auditorium”.

Delivering the Maiden Convocation first Lecture on the theme “Building a World Class University in Africa: The Role of Private Universities”, the former Executive Secretary, Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Peter Okebukola spoke on the gap between Nigerian university and world class UK and US universities.

According to him, the progress being made by Nigerian Universities in attaining World Class Status from 2000 to date, was very slow.
