The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation mega station was attacked by some armed robbers late on Saturday in the Asa Dam area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The robbers were said to have during their operation beheaded a police sergeant and a security man at the station.

CEOAFRICA gathered that the men of the underworld struck when the workers of the station had left for their respective homes.

“During the bloody incident, the armed robbers beheaded a sergeant and a security guard attached to the fuel station,” a resident of the area said.

CEOAFRICA learnt that the NNPC mega station had been under lock and key throughout Sunday throwing residents into a panicky situation that another round of fuel scarcity was imminent.

Ajayi Okasanmi the Police Public Relations Officer in the Kwara Police Command, confirmed the incident.

He added that the “information is true. We have commenced investigation into the matter.”
