Chrisland University VC, Prof. Babalola to bag Gold Award of Excellence on Quality Healthcare

The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola will on Thursday, 3rd of October 2019 conferred with ‘Gold Award of Excellence on Quality Health Care’ at the 1st Southwest Nigeria Health Awards and Lectures 2019 in Osun State.

The award event will hold at the Main Auditorium, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Phase 3, Ile-Ife, Nigeria by 1.00pm.

Mrs Babalola is a Professor of Pharmacy and first female pharmacist professor of the University of Ibadan. Her research interest focus on drug analysis, PK/PD pharmacogenetics, pharmacogenomics, pharmaceutical analysis and bioethics.

She is a receiver of several grants, including the German Academic Exchange Service, World Bank and MacArthur Grant. In 2011, she won a $1 million MacArthur Foundation Grant,

She also the director Centre for Drug Discovery, Development and Production (CDDDP) called centre of excellence at the University of Ibadan.

Prof Babalola has bagged so many awards which includes; award on academic excellent by Nigeria Association of Pharmacist in Academia (NAPA), the Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPS) merit award, named among the 16 prominent Nigerian Women that excel in Science and Research, and so many others.

Since she became a professor, she has supervised hundreds of undergraduate students and over 30 postgraduate students (PGD, MSC, M. Phil &PhD). She had published over 120 scholarly articles in reputable academic journal as well as books, books chapter, conference abstracts and monograph.

However, the Registrar of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Mr. David Olowola on behalf of staff and students of the university rejoiced with the amiable Vice Chancellor, Professor Babalola for the recognition of her contributions towards excellence and quality healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Mr. Olowola noted that the Management is making arrangement to be fully represented.

The Special Guests for the event includes the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and Professor Victor Adetiloye, Chief Medical Director, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife.
