Professor Oyeronke Adunni Odunola of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ibadan will on Thursday 19th September, 2019 deliver the 468th inaugural lecture of the University of Ibadan.
The title of the Inaugural lecture is “THE BIGGER IS THE SADDER: CANCER BURDEN AS A CHALLENGE TO SUSTAINABLE HEALTH”.
The inaugural lecture will take place at the Lakeside Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan by 5:00 pm prompt.
Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan is the chairman of Inaugural Lecture. He will also be leading other management team of the noble institution.
Expected at the events are researchers, policy makers, family members, friends and well-wishers to enliven the inaugural lecture.
The 468th in the series of the inaugural lecture will be coming barely one week after Professor O.A Ehinola of the Geology department delivered the 467thinaugural lecture titled “On the Search of Unconventional Hydrocarbon Resources of Nigeria Basins”.
The Post-Inaugural Cocktail Party will later hold at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Ibadan.
Professor Oyeronke Adunni Odunola
Professor Odunola was born on 28th August, 1963 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. She is the Director, Cancer Research and Molecular Biology Laboratories, Department of Biochemistry, University of Ibadan and the immediate past Director, Research Management Office, University of Ibadan. She received her B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Biochemistry from University of Ibadan, and has over thirty (30) years teaching and research experience in environmental toxicology, biochemical oncology, nutritional genomics and climate change.
The erudite professor is a member of several learned societies and organizations. She has over seventy- five (75) publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and over fifty -one (51) abstracts in conference proceedings to her credit.
