The Director of His Majesty Global Schools Ido, Ibadan, Oyo state Mr. Babajide Ojo Joshua has advised parents that, the best legacy to give to their children is education, not buildings as the world is gradually turning to a small global village.
Joshua disclosed this in an interview with CEOAFRICA at HMGS end of the session and graduation ceremony that took place at the School premise on Friday 26th July, 2019.
The Director said “Firstly, I give thanks to almighty God who admits today a huge success. I thanked all my staff and members who we have worked together to achieve this, because without them, the programme won’t be a success”.
“HMGS to the glory of God has being one of the best because that is our motto ‘We strive for knowledge, we are the best’. Since the schools has been placed into existence, the lord has been so merciful, being our guide, leading us and giving us directive on how to lead and direct the children we have in our care. The whole thing was not done by my power but through the help of my colleagues who we strategized together on how the school will go forward. It has been a glorious one ever since the school has been established in September, 2016 because we have broken bounds. For instance, we have gone out for various excursions and sporting activities, and each outing we always stands out to be the best. I believed the school will continue to be the best” he said.
The Director speaks further that “My vision and mission of being the sole proprietor of the school is to make the school known globally apparent to the name HMGS. We have made a lot of advances, tune out our tentacles not just in Nigeria but in the world globally. The school is known on the social platform. My view is that, in the next three years, the school will go beyond Nigeria, Africa and would go global. So, with the vision and the plan we have structured on ground, I believed that the school will go global. The structure on ground is that, the school is not just going to be a day school; it will be both day and boarding and as you can see, over the three years now we were able to raised up some structures. By next year, we have in mind to erect the hostels. That is the reason why I said, in the next three years, the school will go global”.
While advising the graduands, he said “My advice for the graduands is to keep the flag flying. They should continue showing that they are the best in all they do. The sky shouldn’t be their limit but the starting point for them. All they have to do is to continue with their hard work, stay focus and believe in God as they shall go places”.
He however urged the parents to make education the best legacy for their children; he said “my advice for all parents is that, they should encourage their children. And how are they going to be encouraging their children? Whenever the children come to you as their parents and ask for one or two things in terms of the writing materials either the textbooks or anything, we should provide it for them because without these writing materials in the school, they would continue to lag behind. Our parents and communities should not throw away education. Education is the best legacy that you can leave for your children. Looking at the world today, its turning to a small global village and the only way you can connect with the world is via social platforms and if you are not educated, you cannot flow alongside what is going on in the world. Therefore, the parents should see education as the best legacy they can ever leave for their children and they should not look at it with the fact that, I have buildings and some other things they can inherit. Education is the best legacy any parent can leave behind for their children”.
