The All Progressive Congress (APC) has promised in their manifesto to provide Nigerians with 40,000 megawatts of electricity within four years, if elected to the centre in 2015.

CEOAFRICA news correspondent gathered this statement as contained in the party’s manifesto which also states that the party is willing to encourage the expansion of local content in the oil sector.

The manifesto read that the party when in power will negotiate oil deals, unveil the secrecy surrounding the ownership of 49 percent of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas, query the over N50 trillion oil revenue which accrued to the Federal Account between 2000 and 2013 and recover billions of US dollars which ministers, departments and agencies failed to remit to the federation account.

It further pledged to strengthen the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), making them more independent.

The manifesto presented that the party’s main focus would be to pursue what it tagged the  8-cardinal programme listed as; war against corruption, food security, accelerated power supply, integrated transport network, free education, devolution of power, accelerated economic growth and affordable health care.
