Two suspects have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command on Wednesday for attempting to kidnap one Kuluwa of Gayegi village in the Paiko Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, Abubakar Musa, 20, and Isiaku Madugu, 30 both of same address were apprehended by a team of policemen attached to Paiko Division on a tip-off.
It was learnt the suspects had invaded the house of one Likita Umar, with dangerous weapons trying to kidnap his wife (Kuluwa) on July 12, 2019.
CEOAFRICA gathered that the relatives of the victim prevented Musa and Madugu from kidnapping her.
One of the suspects, Madugu said unemployment and frustration made him join the gang of kidnappers.
“I don’t have a job. Nobody is helping me to get a job to start with and the frustration is too much for me to bear,” he lamented.
According to him, “I have tried as much as I can to secure job for myself but did not succeed.
“I regret my action, all my friends may begin to distance themselves from me now. I’m finished.”
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects would be arraigned in court soon.
