TRIPOLI, Libya –                                Libya’s Mitiga airport in capital Tripoli has been re-opened to air traffic on Tuesday after an air strike, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Mitiga is the only working airport in Tripoli, which has been under attack for three months by the eastern-based Libyan National Army commanded by Khalifa Haftar.

CEOAfrica gathered that Mitiga airport halted air traffic on Monday after the facility was attacked in an air strike, according to a post on the airport authority’s Facebook page.

Libya has been torn by violence and political instability since long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi was deposed and killed in 2011.
