The Osun State House of Assembly has condoled with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state over the death of a corps member serving in its chambers, Julianah Ayomikun.

Julianah reportedly died last weekend, after applying a strong pesticide, Sniper, on her head to kill lice in her hair.

Speaker of the Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, who led a team of lawmakers to commiserate with the NYSC, expressed sadness over the untimely death of the corps member.

The Speaker said: “The death of Miss Juliana Ayomikun is very painful and quite unfortunate, I pray that the Almighty God will grant her family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.”

He called for the regulation of sales of dangerous chemicals and substances by relevant government agencies.

In response, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Ayodele Adegoke, thanked the lawmakers for the visit, saying corps members are enlightened on issues of security during their orientation programme.

On the entourage of the Speaker were his deputy, Femi Popoola; the majority leader, Mooruf Olanrewaju; and the deputy majority leader, Kunle Akande, among others.
