The Oyo state commissioner of police,CP Shina T. Olukolu through his proactive approach and sustainable community policing strategy has in the last few weeks recorded tremendous achievements in the State,
The crime fighter paraded not less than 56 criminals, including a security man who was involved in rapping of school children and a 24-year-old kidnapper.CP olukolu also rescued a 35-year-old Foluke Akinrinde unhurt, barley 24 hours after her abduction.
Speaking to CEOAFRICA on Friday July 12, at the State Police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan , CP Shina, said " the command as part of its resolve and unrelenting efforts to purge crime in the state to the barest minimum, have begun an aggressive drive towards combating crime of any sort, hence making Oyo state conducive for all and sundry."
Among other several achievements recorded by Oyo State Comissioner of Police is the case of one 50-year-old Tajudeen Olalere, a security man in a school, name withheld, who has been defiling some of the female students of the said school, according to the CP Shina, "the evil act has been going on for years, and nothing was done about it but Luck ran out on Olalere on the 27th of June, 2019 when he attempted to defile another girl (name withheld) in the school, the 16-year-old teenage raised alarm and the noise brought chaos. The procative intervention of the men of Oyo State Police command, brought the situation under control,” CP Olukolu said.
The man was later arrested and brought before the Criminal and Investigation Department, CID, after a discreet investigation, it was discovered that the security had defiled about six (6) female students between the age 15 and 16 years.
CEOAfrica gathered that the security man gets his prey anytime he enters the class, he will intimidate the students, seize his victims properties, sequel to this, the female student will follow him to his security post and he will give them water to drink, use his hand to slap their chest and back, after which, he will ask them to undress and lie them down on a bench, before having sexual intercourse with them.
Other achievements recorded are; arrest of armed robbers and criminal receivers, arrest of murderers, arrest of cultists, arrest of armed robbers who specialized in hijacking trailers loaded with PMS on the highway, kidnapping and conspiracy, recovery of stolen vehicles and unlawful possession of human skulls.
The command also recovered ammunitions ranging from,two locally made cut-to-size gun. 3 cutlasses, other items recovered include: a Tecno cell phone, five customized beret caps, one full Aiye customized regalia, weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, one unregistered Toyota Camry car a.k.a BIG DADDY, two unregistered Toyota Corolla car, one Toyota space bus, one Sienna bus, Two Tecno cell phones, ropes used to tie kidnapped victims and two Bajaj motorcycle.
The CP sounded a note of warning to criminals who are used to seeking asylum inside the bush, to be ready as his officers and men are working tirelessly with hunters, vigilante and forests guards, in tracing their hideout, as he vowed to fish them out , if they fail to desist from their criminal acts.
However, CP olukolu, thanked the good people of Oyo State for their cooperation in helping the command combat crime, while promising them that the Oyo State Police command under his watch is working day and night for the security of their lives and properties.
