At least five Eritreans were reportedly apprehended on Wednesday morning along Isiolo-Moyale Highway, in Samburu East Sub County by the Kenyan Police.

According to report the aliens accompanying two minors headed to Nairobi while driving a personal vehicle with registration number KCR 731H (NISSAN SERENA).

 “Police manning a roadblock at Kirish area along Isiolo-Moyale highway arrested seven aliens of Eritrean nationality who gained entry into the country illegally,” County police commander Mr Karanja Muiruri said.

Muiruri said the Eritreans lacked valid travel documents and permits to be in the country.

The Police also confiscated the money they were carrying.

Police impounded their vehicle and recovered an unknown amount of money in different currencies.

The five and two minors are currently being held at Samburu East Archers police station.

Mr Muiruri says they will be charged with being in the country unlawfully.

“Investigations to arraign the seven adults in court are underway,” says Muiruri.
