Record-Breaking: 2face Idibia's 'The Ascension' Album,12th Top Selling Album In The World

According to Billboard World album charts, the Nigerian artiste new compilation of songs, is currently the 12th most purchased internatonal album.

Less than two weeks after the official release of the 2Face Idibia‘s “The Ascension”, the album has gained world-wide recognition by being listed on the universally acclaimed ‘BillBoard World Album Chart‘.

This is the first ever time that a Nigerian artiste has achieved the feat, and definitely holds the record as the fastest selling album from a Nigerian.

The new album features RocNation’s Bridget Kelly, Machel Montano, Fally Ipupa, Kim Almarcha, Vector, Iceberg Slim and label mates, Victor Uwaifo, RockSteady and Dammy Krane.

Like is usual with 2face Idibia, this is major achievement for an African artiste. According to BillBoard, Chart positions are usually determined based on key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring, as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, YouTube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.

The inclusion of 2Face Idibia’s “The Ascension” album on the charts is an indication of the general success of the album, not only in Nigeria, but across the continent and the entire globe. The album premiered at Number Twelve (12) on the charts under the “World Albums” category.

“The Ascension” will is available on Spinlet’s Mobile App (Spinlet.com), iTunes, Spotify, Konga, and other digital platforms . The Economy album is marketed nationwide through Obiano Marketers for N150, while the Premium Jewel Case album (which includes a 16 page booklet) is available for sale on Konga.com for N1,000.
