Egypt's Al-sisi meets Belarusian President, sign joint declaration to strengthen relations

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, on Tuesday met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in the Belarusian capital Minsk, where the two presidents signed a joint declaration to strengthen relations in various fields.

Sisi and Lukashenko witnessed the signing ceremony for several Memorandums of understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation between Egypt and Belarus, including a MoU for the establishment of the Belarusian-Egyptian Business Council, which aims to boost trade and investment relations, as well as one fora road map for joint trade and economic relations.

During a joint press conference, Sisi said that the strong relations between Egypt and Belarus reflect the level of understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

Noting that further promotion of cooperation in tourism and energy fields was reviewed during the talks, hence, stressed the need to take advantage of the promising opportunities in various fields of cooperation to achieve a qualitative leap in relations.

Egypt’s Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the two presidents agreed to establish an accredited Egyptian diplomatic representation in Minsk, similar to the Belarus Embassy in Cairo, reflecting the growing momentum between the two sides and in the framework of supporting political and diplomatic relations.
