The Hawks had confirmed on Saturday that two suspects have been apprehended for the killing of a DA councillor and her husband, discovered beaten to death at their home in Dealesville.
The bloodied corpses of the duo, Monica and Basil Deniacos were discovered by their helper at 07:30 on Friday.
The 68-year-old Monica was found lying in the passage and 74-year-old Basil was found between the bed and wall.
A blunt object had been used to murder the couple, Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
The ambush is suspected to have taken place on Thursday night.
The gun and a Toyota bakkie missing from their home had not yet been recovered by Saturday morning.
Monica was also a respected business woman in Dealesville, aside being a DA councillor.
The two alleged suspects, aged 25 and 29, would face the local magistrate’s court on Monday.
