Ethiopia to adopt Chinese Technology to treat Cancer

Ethiopia is managing the introduction of advanced medical technology to facilitate the early detention and treatment of cancer, media reported.

The most recent step to achieve this purpose was the signing of a memorandum of understanding(MoU) between Chinese and Ethiopian companies, plus the University College of Addis Ababa, by virtue of which professionals from the sector will be trained to work those specialized equipment, according to FANA Broadcasting Corporate television.

Representatives of Chinese companies CIRC and Neusoft Medical System and the Ethiopian company WMG PLC, along with representatives of the educational institution, signed the document on Thursday, which also aims to speed up the import of the technology and install it before December 2019.

The source, Ye Liwen, of China Isotopes and Radiation Corporation (CIRC), also stated that the Chinese cooperation with the Ethiopian health system will benefit thousands of people and will serve as a model of strategic partnership for other nations.

Vice President at Neusoft Medical Dan Zhang stated that, despite many challenges of medical care in the country, Ethiopia maintains a dynamic growth in the sector, and has great potential to grow and become a reference in Africa.
