The City of Cape Town reported that a mother and her three children passed away in a fire outbreak in Khayelitsha on Tuesday morning, while the fifth person was wounded.
The spokesperson for Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services, Jermaine Carelse attested that three fire fighting appliances, a rescue vehicle and 14 staff members were dispatched to the incident following the call received by the City’s Fire and Rescue Services at 4:50am of a formal dwelling alight in Hlomela Street, Town 2, Khayelitsha.
By the time the fire outbreak was doused at 5:20 am, it’s recorded that one grownup lady, two young girls and one young boy had passed on as a result of smoke inhalation.
A male adult did sustain burn injuries, in which he was taken to the hospital.
What aided the fire explosion was unknown at the time of happening.
