The High Court in Bloemfontein has convicted two men and a woman to life imprisonment on Monday for murdering a teenager because his father did not want to pay child support.

In a statement, Free State police attested that 47-year-old Tebogo Molatole, his 50-year-old wife, Kelebogile Molatole, and 53-year-old hitman Khoeliea-Marena Sefutha, conspired and engaged in the murder of 17-year-old Kearabetswe Leteane.

The 17-year-old boy, who was Molatole's son from a previous relationship, was gunned and murdered after returning from soccer practice to his father's house.

It’s disclosed in the statement that "The Provincial Organized Crime Task team were tasked to investigate the matter and it was not long when the pieces of the puzzle were put together...”

There’s also inclusion in the statement that the father of the deceased executed such move because he didn’t want to pay for maintenance after his year of civil service as a teacher.

"Thorough investigation revealed that the motive for the murder was that the father did not want to continue paying maintenance after he retired as a teacher," the statement revealed.
