Apostle Johnson Suleman, Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, and some Nigerians have called for the return of Leah Sharibu, the remaining Dapchi schoolgirl held captive by Boko Haram terrorists, as she turns 16 today.

The Christian girl was abducted by Boko Haram insurgents on the night of February 19, 2018 alongside her schoolmates of Government Science College, Dapchi in Yobe State.

The abducted student has remained in the custody of the insurgents for 449 days for refusing to denounce her Christian faith, after the Nigerian government negotiated the release of the schoolgirls on March 21, 2018.

In celebration of her sixteenth birthday, Apostle Suleman, on his Twitter page alongside other Nigerians, urged the Nigerian government to secure the release of Leah Sharibu even as they offered prayers for her.

Apostle Suleman on his Twitter page wrote: “Happy 16th birthday to LEAH Sharibu, we have not forgotten you.

“You are in our daily prayers and all like mind believers are connected in faith and await your glorious return. The Lord of hosts is with you. happy birthday to you.”

@Islimfit “Happy 16th birthday to Leah Sharibu. We pray for God’s protection and eventual freedom from your cruel abductors. Someday soon, we’ll be able to post a more recent picture of you smiling and free from captivity.”

@CorneliusOkafor “Happy 16th birthday to you LEAH SHARIBU…May your 16th birthday blessing from God be your quick release from Boko haram captivity. May your unshakable faith save you in Jesus Name.”

We have lost faith in the Nigerian government to intervene on her behalf but we trust that you can do the miraculous. Please, grant your daughter Freedom.”

@Nelsonfisola “We hope the Federal government uses all available resources to secure Leah’s release. May God help Leah and forgive Nigerian “leaders” who play politics with people’s lives; neglecting the welfare of the people.”

@Iammisterpaul “Dear God, It’s hard to accept that Leah Sharibu is still in Boko Haram’s den on her 16th birthday.

@Cornel34 “The government should do the needful and get her released not speaking English while the young girl suffers.”

@Oluwabusayo “Dear President Buhari, Leah Sharibu is 16 yrs old today. She’s been in captivity for 449 days because of her faith. As the President & C-in-C, kindly use every power available at your disposal to ensure Leah regains her freedom today as a befitting 16th birthday gift to her”.
