Sequel to EFFC’S apprehension of Nigerian artiste, Naira Marley alongside the orchestrator of “Zanku”, Omoniyi Temidayo popularly known as Zlatan Ibile together with other suspects in Zlatan’s house earlier  on Friday, the anti-graft body has dug out the main reason for arresting the suspects including one Rahman Jago who are now been kept waiting at the EFCC office in Lagos.

Tony Orilade, EFCC spokesman in a statement issued on Friday stated that the suspects were in “connection with alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering.”

The EFCC spokesman added in the statement that the mobile devices such as laptops and phones of the suspects were seized with the move to conducting empirical tests to justify their tie with cybercrime.

He affirmed; “Intelligence report had also linked them to cybercrime offences."

Disclosing that other suspects were apprehended, he added“ They were arrested along with: Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses and Abubakar Musa.

“Their arrest followed an early morning raid on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 9, Gbangbola Street, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.

“At the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops, from the suspects.

“They have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue.”

A flashback to some days ago when Naira Marley caused a fuss as he posted a viral video on social media  on Nigerians to pray for Yahoo boys rather than condemnation.

In the video, the brain behind “Issa goal” said Yahoo boys are the main reason money circulates to the common man, so they should not be condemned.

Since the inception of Operation Cyber Storm, launched by EFCC last year, its move to curbing the activities of internet fraudsters has recorded the apprehension of 150 suspects across the country.
