Latest: Angolan President To Travel To Russia For Official Visit

Angolan President Joao Lourenzo will travel to Moscow for a four-day official visit at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

The Angolan president’s agenda will include a meeting with Putin and high-level talks between delegations from the two countries to reinforce bilateral cooperation, according to a press release published on Sunday by the Civil House of the President of the Republic.

Lourenzo is expected to participate in an entrepreneurial forum between Russia and Angola.

The two countries have focused their collaboration on the fields of energy, geology and mining, higher education, defense, security, telecommunications, information technologies, fishing, transportation, finance and banking.

The visiting presidential delegation will also attend a cultural gala at the Bolshoi Theater.

Lourenzo will decorate Putin with the Agostinho Neto Order at a ceremony in the Kremlin on April 4.
