Arsenal have reportedly found themselves in a position where they are unable to get a replacement for Petr Cech.

The goalkeeper has already stated that he will retire from professional football at the end of the season, and it was assumed that Arsenal would enter the market for an understudy to Bernd Leno.

However, according to The Sun, the Gunners will not spend any money on another goalkeeper and will instead promote Emiliano Martinez to the substitutes' bench.

Martinez has been contracted to Arsenal since 2011, but the Argentine has only made nine appearances for the North London outfit in all competitions.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Reading, with a total of six outings being made in the Championship since his arrival on January 22.
