Arsenal welcome London rivals Chelsea in this weekend’s epic battle for champions league places. Arsenal have had a rather inconsistent results over the course of the festive period having gone on an impressive run following their early season wobble. The Gunners currently sit at fifth, 3 points behind their London rivals and would be looking to close the gap.

Chelsea on the other hand will be hoping to put a daylight between themselves and a fellow top four contender. They have however struggled in front of goal with coach Marricio Sarri preferring  Eden Hazard as a false nine ahead of his struggling centre forwards. Saturday’s game will come too early for Chelsea-bound Gonzalo Higuain whom Chelsea boss has been desperate to unite with having worked together in Napoli.

Arsenal’s coach Unai Emery has come under heavy criticism for the continued omission of former Real Madrid play maker Mesut Ozil from the first eleven with reports of a possible fallout between the pair. With the gunners desperately in need of a win to keep their top four hopes alive, it will be interesting to see how the gunners line up for the visit of the blues.
