Ally Edha Awadh is the founder and CEO of Lake Oil Group, energy trading and transportation conglomerates. He was born in Tanzania in 1980.

While studying at Brock, he asked for additional allowance from his father who denied and told him that if he needed additional cash he should work for it. He got a job at McDonalds after study hours.

On completion of his studies, Awadh started importing used clothes from Canada to sell in Tanzania. In no distant time, his second-hand clothing business flourished.

He later ventured into the importation of used and refurbished Trucks to Tanzania from the United Kingdom. Simultaneously, he started a milk processing facility which he subsequently sold.

At the age of 26, Awadh approached the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) in Tanzania and applied for a license to import refined petroleum products.

In 2006, he founded Lake Oil Group. Awadh put together a team and began importing fuel products to Tanzania, distributing to gas stations. He was able to raise loans from local and international banks which he used to build up oil storage terminals across Tanzania. He also started buying up retail stations and setting up new ones across rural regions in Tanzania.

His Foundation - Lake Oil Foundation gives scholarships to impoverished Tanzanians and rehabilitates schools and Hospitals.
