Rochas Okorocha’s son –in-law, Uche Nwosu, governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) has chosen  the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Acho Ihim, as running mate for the forth coming general elections.

This came a day after Ihim defected with 18 other members of the state House of Assembly  frome Peoples Democratic Part, All Progressive Congress to join the AA .

While the former APC members accused the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole of injustice, the PDP members who defected, said that the emergence of the new PDP in the state, and the lack of effective leadership in the party, prompted their move to the AA.

Our correspondent learnt that Ihim was chosen as the running mate to improve the chances of the party in the Okigwe zone of the state, where he hails from.

Confirming the development, the Director of Media and Publicity, Uche Nwosu Campaign Organisation, Jones Onwuasoanya, said that with Nwosu and Ihim, the AA was optimistic of winning the state in 2019.

He, however, debunked claims that Ihim was imposed on Nwosu.
